Ever since I discovered the world of essential oils I have been looking for ways to use them and other safer ingredients in place of chemicals in the home. I have used them for everything from produce wash to cooking and even furniture polish. I add them in my homemade laundry soap so it just seemed “natural” to attempt my own homemade dryer sheets as well. The variety of essential oil scents you can choose from give your choice of custom blends! For my reusable dryer sheets I simply cut up some old fabric I had on hand.
You will need…
1/2 cup vinegar
1/4 cup water
5-10 drops essential oil – I used Lavender with a few drops of lemon
cotton fabric- you can use an old sheet, t shirt, or any scrap cotton fabric you have on hand

Cut fabric into approximately 6″ x 6″ squares.
Pour vinegar, water, and essential oils to desired scent in jar, swirl around to combine.
Stuff jar full of cloth squares, without packing too tightly I was able to fit about 18 inside.
Replace ring and lid on jar, shake well until cloths are all saturated.
To use- toss 2 or 3 in dryer at the start of a load.
Place dry fabric bag in jar and shake to re-wet, when liquid is all absorbed just mix up another batch.
